GREETINGS!

We are here every day caring for animals and doing all the things we need to do to keep the shelter wheels in motion.  You are always welcome to stop in with a question, drop off donations, or just to say hi.  We offer animal intakes and adoptions or visits with the animals by appointment only.  If you don't have an appointment, you will probably be asked to go home and schedule an appointment. Typically, we have several appointments scheduled every day, so we are not always able to accomodate 'walk-ins.

Animal intakes will remain, as they have always been, by advanced appointment only.

Adoptions will be scheduled so that there is only one family in the building at a time.

Of course, donations are always welcome and greatly appreciated, but we ask that you use our side door, on the north side of the building, to drop off of your donations. If you need assistance or a receipt, please just ask, we're happy to assist you!

PLEASE, please understand that our guidelines are NOT meant to turn away potential adopters or supporters.

We've found that, doing things this way, we are far more productive and efficient, and saving tons of payroll expenses!

Thank you for your support!

Other options:

You can work with WCVC.  They are easy to find, and it's about an hour and fifteen minutes to them from GLAAS, just for an idea of distance.

To schedule your pet for a spay or neuter with WCVC, you have two options.  You can call them at 608-224-1400 or you can visit their website at wicvc.org, click Book Appointment and follow the prompts.  For both options, you will need to pay for the appointment when you schedule it.

Critter Junction in FDL offers transports to WCVC for cats.

The Fox Valley Humane Association has services available, visit their website at foxvalleypets.org and click on 'services' for info.

Waupaca Humane has a program, contact them for details.  Many shelters have either programs or info on other programs, so contact your local shelter, if that's not GLAAS, for available options.

There are two additional low cost clinics in Madison:  Precision Veterinary at 608-405-3148 or Underdog Vet Services at 608-268-7060.  Precision Veterinary also has an online scheduling option from their website.

It is worth inquiring with local clinics as pricing might not be as prohibitive as you think!

Get your cats (and dogs) fixed now! Thanks!
