The Green Lake Area Animal Shelter was founded in 1993 under the name Tri-County Animal Shelter and Adoption.  We changed our name in 2005, and also expanded our services and service areas.

We are an Open Admission shelter accepting primarily dogs and cats.  We offer a low cost spay and neuter program, in addition to many other services.

Our primary focus is adoption.

Since 1993, this shelter has rescued over 8,000 cats and dogs, and dozens of other companion animal species.  We routinely partner with other organizations and law enforcement to assist in emergency situations.

Our yearly operating budget is roughly $140,000.  Every penny is spent toward our mission of caring for homeless cats and dogs.  We maintain a few small municipal contracts that account for about 2.2% of our yearly income.  The rest of our income is in the form of donations, whether it's adoption fees, fundraisers, memorials, or donation of supplies.

We employ a small paid staff and have a few dedicated volunteers to help out.  A Board of Directors oversees policy and procedure, and the Shelter Manager supervises all day to day operations.
